Paramahansa Yogananda was born in 1893 in Gorakhpur, India. From a young age, he showed deep spiritual yearning. Under the guidance of his guru Sri Yukteswar, he mastered the ancient practice of Kriya Yoga.
In 1920, he traveled to the USA to speak at the International Congress of Religious Liberals in Boston—becoming one of the first Indian yogis to live and teach in the West. His message? Self-realization through love, breath, and God-communion.
